FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
1. Am I in your service area?
We service most of Ann Arbor, all of Ypsilanti, most of Ypsilanti Township, all of Superior Township, and western Canton. If there are multiple properties in a neighborhood that is just beyond the boundaries of our service area, we will consider stretching our borders a bit, so talk to your neighbors and get together for a group bid.
2. How do I get an estimate for your services?
Easy! Call us at 734-547-4ALL (4255) and let us know what you need help with.
3. Is there a charge for your estimates?
In a word...no.
4. Can I receive an estimate over the phone?
Unfortunately, no. Every property and job has its own unique characteristics that affect the price for services. Therefore, we do want to visit the property to know exactly what will be involved so that we can give you the best price.
5. Do I have to be home when you do the estimate?
Usually you need not be home when we do the estimate. This is true for most lawn maintenance and snow removal bids. Obviously, we would like you to be there when we do the estimate just so we can meet you in person, but we understand that life gets in the way sometimes. For spring and fall cleanups, pruning, or any mulching jobs, we must meet with you to go over the property to get specific instructions for what you would like done.
6. Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
Not at all. Our contracts are on a seasonal basis only, and you may pick and choose which individual services you would like. Obviously, we would like to sign you up for all your outdoor service needs, but we understand that some people like to mow their own lawn, rake their own leaves or shovel their own snow.
7. Can I get short-term service from A Man For All Seasons while I am on vacation or out of town for some reason?
Absolutely. We offer vacation mowing and plowing services to anyone who will be away from home. Some restrictions may apply due to the servicing of our "full-time" customers, but we can usually fit you in with no problem. In fact, many of our full-time customers started out with us this way.
8. Do I have to pay a bunch of money up front for mowing and snow removal service?
Unlike the vast majority of other companies, we never charge "prepays" for services. Many companies charge you up front for half a season's worth of mowing or up to ten snow plowings! With us, you simply pay the bill we send you at the end of every month that details all the services provided during that month. This is much simpler for everyone to keep track of.
9. Do you guarantee snow removal service by a certain time?
As much as we would like to be able to, we can not. Due to the vagaries of our lovely Michigan winter weather, guaranteeing service by a set time is impossible. Please keep in mind that some of the properties we subcontract snow plowing for are medical facilities and therefore get the highest priority. We do promise to get to you as soon as possible. Usually, snow removal is done within 8 hours of the time it stops snowing. So the general rule of thumb is that if you aren't plowed when you leave for work, you will usually be fine by the time you get home.
10. Why do your snow contracts start at one inch of snowfall?
Most local municipalities require that all public sidewalks be cleared when the snow depth reaches one inch. So, our contracts use one inch depth as the starting point so that you will avoid being fined by the city.
